Anwar to announce which seat he will contest in Perak later today

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali confirmed that Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim would announce which seat he would contest later today.

Anwar, who is also the PKR adviser, is now in Permatang Pauh, Penang to explain to his constituents there why he needed to give up the seat and take on a new challenge in Perak.

Anwar has previously confirmed he would contest a seat in Perak, the state government of which the BN had regained control of via power grab staged by Prime Minister Najib Razak in 2009.

Despite optimism that the Pakatan Rakyat would win back Perak in the 13th general election, which is due to be called within weeks, many analysts believe that the odds might still favour the BN due to the large number of incentives and cash aids given out by both the federal government and the current Umno chief minister Zambry Kadir.
