Najib promises peaceful transition of power

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has promised that there will be a peaceful transition of power should there be a change in government after the 13th general election.

NONEIn a 'live' telecast this morning to announce the dissolution of the 12th Parliament, Najib pledged that should a change in government happen, be it at federal or state level, there will be a peaceful transition of power.

"We respect democracy, we are committed to our political transformation, we are committed to respect the voice of the rakyat," Najib stressed towards the end of his 15-minute speech after announcing the dissolution of Parliament.

He also asked Malaysians living in the east coast of Sabah "not to be afraid" to fulfil their voting obligations even though the area is  still considered as a security zone after an incursion by armed Sulu militants in February.
