Ipoh Timor MP Thomas Su is expected to be charged next Monday under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 (PAA) in regards to a post-electoral rally in Ipoh two weeks ago.
When contacted byMalaysiakini today, the DAP leader confirmed the matter, stating that the investigating officer of the case has requested he present himself at the Ipoh Sessions court on May 27.
Su (left) said he will charged under Section 9(1) of the PAA for failing to give the police prior 10-day notification before holding a rally on May 9 in Ipoh to protest against electoral fraud.
“It is proven that the transformation to create democracy is a pack of lies,” he said, adding that the PAA has become a draconian law to suppress the opposition.
