Racist ex-judge: DAP lodges police report

Racist ex-judge: DAP lodges police report
GEORGE TOWN - Penang DAP today lodged a police report against former Court of Appeal judge Datuk Mohd Noor Abdullah and UiTM pro-chancellor Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Arshad for allegedly making racist statements.
Newly-elected Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik said the duo had uttered irresponsible statements which may cause tension amongst the people.
"Police should take stern action against them," he told a press conference after lodging the report at the Jalan Patani police station. Accompanying him were Jawi assemblyman Soon Lip Chee and supporters.
Mohd Noor had reportedly warned the Chinese community to be prepared for a backlash from the Malay community for their "betrayal" in the May 5 general election.
Abdul Rahman had also raised the ire of education groups when he said vernacular schools should be abolished on the argument that they affected national unity.
In response, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said his remarks were tantamount to sedition and that PR would protect such schools from going out of existence.
