THE COWARD IN ZAHID:Crackdown not my fault, I left it to the cops!

THE COWARD IN ZAHID:Crackdown not my fault, I left it to the cops!
Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has washed his hands off today's arrests of two opposition leaders and a pro-democracy activist by police.
"I have no hand in the arrests," Zahid said when asked about the arrests by reporters in Putrajaya today.
"As I have said when I first came into the Home Ministry, I left everything to the police on operational matters."
Zahid expressed confidence that the police action was in order and in accordance with the law.
"I am sure they must have strong evidence and basis for the arrests."
Pressed for details, Zahid told reporters to contact the police for further information.
Earlier today democracy activist Haris Ibrahim, PKR leader Tian Chua and PAS member Tamrin Ghaffar (right) were detained by police and are being held at the Jinjang remand detention centre,
The facility has become infamous for the detention of student activist Adam Adli Abdul Halim, who was charged under the Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act today, as well as for last night's police action against a peaceful candlelight vigil calling for Adam's release, which saw 18 people arrested and some beaten up as well, though they were later released
Chua, Haris Ibrahim and Tamrin are are being probed under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act.
Opposition political parties and civil society groups have decried the arrests, labelling them a "crackdown" on legitimate democratic dissent.
