Man ‘whacks’ Najib
KUALA LUMPUR: While politicians delivered fiery speeches at Padang Merbok, one elderly man decided to show his frustration by beating Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s portrait with a slipper.
“Najib knows how to make laws but he doesn’t understand on how to follow them. This is why he deserves it,” said M Krishnan,55 before whacking Najib’s portrait repeatedly.
He also drank some water, before spitting it out on Najib’s portrait.
His actions received thunderous support from those around him, who cheered while he waved his slipper on the portrait.
On what was his grouses against the government, Krishnan said he was a recipient of a public housing scheme (PPR) flat from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), two years ago.
However, he claimed that the flat was in a poor condition and accused DBKL of ignoring his complaints.
“So I stopped paying rent after three months. Now I owe DBKL about RM3,000 but I don’t care,” said Krishnan.
He added that the Socso office had also failed to compensate him in full despite an injury suffered during his working time.
When asked if he feared the authorities may take action against him for his conduct, Krishnan told the media that he was not afraid to be arrested.
“If the police want to take action against me, go ahead. I’m not afraid,” he said. - FMT
