SUCH A BAD DEAL but Soi Lek continues blame Matang game

I accept the decision made by the Board of Directors of the Matang Holdings to resign en mass in order to respect the shareholders' decision to reject the reverse takeover of Scope Industries Bhd by Matang.

I laud the decision by the Matang board as it has taken a right move to ensure accountability to the shareholders.

It was also a rational move by the Huaren Holdings as the largest shareholders of Matang, choosing not to vote during the Extraordinary General Meeting on May 31 not just to protect the benefit of the Matang shareholders, but also to prevent some quarters who had vested personal interest to exploit the transaction.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Matang chairman Datuk Seri Tan Chai Ho and the Matang board for their dedicated service over the past 3 years.

我接受马登控股董事局的集体呈辞。马登董事局的呈辞是基于尊重马登股东拒绝马登倒置收购实科工业的议决。

我对于马登董事局的决定表示赞赏，这是一项体现对股东问责的正确行动。

华仁控股作为马登控股的最大股东，在5月31日的股东特大上选择不投票，也是一项合理的行动。此举不仅是为了维护马登股东的利益，同时也避免有关交易计划继续被一些人士为了个人利益而炒作。

我也要借此机会感谢马登控股主席拿督斯里陈财和和董事局成员过去3年的勤恳服务。

Press Statement by Matang Holdings Board of Directors

The Matang Holdings Board of Directors announces its resignation en mass effectively from June 13, 2013 as a gesture to respect the decision of the shareholders made on May 31 to reject the reverse takeover (RTO) of Scope Industries Bhd by Matang Holdings.

It was rather unfortunate to see that the transaction had been politicised by some people.

We admit that our communication with the shareholders regarding the RTO was inadequate hence resulted in exploitation of the issue by some quarters.

We would like to stress that we made decisions based on the investment banker's recommendation and in the best interest of Matang shareholders.

We hope that the new Board of Directors will continue to serve the shareholders effectively and to ensure the company to grow steadily and progressively.

尊重股东否决倒置收购，马登董事局集体呈辞

马登控股董事局为对马登股东于5月31日所作出的决定，即拒绝马登倒置收购实科工业的议案表示尊重，因此宣布集体呈辞，从2013年6月13日起生效。

马登与实科的股权交易计划已被一些人政治化，这是非常不幸的。

就有关倒置收购计划，我们承认并未与股东进行充分的沟通，以致有关课题遭到部分人士的利用。

我们要强调，董事局当初的倒置收购计划，是基于投资银行的建议以及为了马登股东的最大利益，而做出的决定。

我们期望新的董事局继续为广大的股东服务，同时确保马登控股的稳健成长。
