3 weeks to charge MP, 3 years to mull over Negri MB


It took three weeks for the authorities to decide to charge a DAP MP, but three years have passed since Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hassan was probed for sending RM10 million overseas through illegal means, and he has yet to be charged.

This was the lament of Seremban MP Anthony Loke, who was served with a court summons saying he will be charged next week for contravening the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 on June 22.

“This is selective prosecution. Lots of MPs are charged on technical issues (like not serving 10 days notice before a rally).

mohamad hasan negeri sembilan mb“But I received a written reply from Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Paul Low about (the MB) and it says the investigation paper is complete and has already been sent to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

“Three years and no action, but when it comes to us, it only takes three weeks,” he said.

Mohamad (right) was probed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) when he sent RM10 million to London through a moneychanger in 2010.
