The much awaited court battle between Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and businessman Amir Bazil Abdullah over an assault claim has fizzled out .
This follows an out of court settlement between both parties during a mediation exercise at the Shah Alam High Court today.
Ahmad Zahid's lawyer Datuk Shamsul Bahrain told reporters the compensation was to be decided privately without intervention of counsel.
Amir Bazli, 41, filed the suit for damages on July 4, 2007, claiming that Ahmad Zahid punched him in the face on Jan 16, 2006 at the Country Heights recreational club in Kajang, causing him to suffer a nasal bone fracture and a swollen left eye.
MORE TO COME.
