Mike, we smell a Maika rat in you - why is this so?

Mike, we smell a Maika rat in you - why is this so?
In the run-up to the 2008 elections, PKR’s ‘Mike’ Manickavasagam was a heroic figure to many in the opposition ranks. He would be in the forefront of every other protest, including the historic Hindraf protest of 2007, and actively involved in organizing many of them. He was fearless of arrest, and indeed was arrested many times.
In 2008 he stood on a PKR ticket in the parliament constituency of Kapar and in the ensuing tsunami, won the seat. As a MP, Mike was a disaster. While an excellent street-fighter, Mike was no intellectual. He was lost. When he made the news, it was often because he was attacking Khalid Ibrahim, the Selangor MB, rather than the ruling BN.
PKR must have been aware of his deficiencies, fielding him in a state seat instead of Parliament in the 2013 election. Presumably lack of substance is more acceptable if one is only a state assemblyman. In any event he would prove his ineptness by losing the seat in an election where Pakatan increased their tally and majorities in most seats in Selangor.
Samy-sponsored video?
On the 25th of July, 2013, Manickavasagam featured in what can only have been a MIC Samy faction sponsored video on the internet. The link is attached. In it, he questioned the fact that the Maika issue had been raised in the Senate. For those who have not been following, Jaspal Singh, MIC’s Treasurer-General had called for an MACC investigation into the controversial sale of Maika to a group of investors called G-team.
Jaspal’s motives for raising this issue are irrelevant to the case, but it seems to raise the question of whether there was collusion between Maika’s management and the ‘investors’ who bought Maika. If there was, it is a criminal fraud.
Incredibly, a mere 2 years later, Oriental Capital, merely one in a stable of companies that Maika owned, is listed and valued at RM1.8 Billion! Maika’s management, headed by the corpulent Vel Paari, is guilty of remarkable stupidity, if nothing else.
Why are they not furious at having been paid a pittance of what Maika was worth? Why have they not instituted some form of legal proceedings against those who bought Maika? Who were Maika management’s financial advisers? Why do they remain unsued?
A bitter betrayal
In the video, Manickavasagam says the Maika issue has been settled. It is a bitter betrayal of all the poor Indians who invested in Maika.
A back of the envelope calculation indicates that based on the current market capitalization of Oriental Capital alone, each of the 66,000 persons who invested in Maika should receive a check for RM25,000 immediately.
Why is Manickavasagam, a supposed oppositionist and a PKR office-bearer attempting what is a clearly a cover-up of the Maika issue? Why has he chosen to so debase himself?
Unless there are outstanding reasons, PKR should no longer tolerate such persons as Manickavasagam in its ranks, not for another moment.
