Police probes minister’s aide for CBT

Police have started investigations into a criminal breach of trust of RM2.4 million against a minister's aide.
PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur police have started investigations into an alleged criminal breach of trust case involving a minister’s special aide amounting to some RM2.4 million.
Police sources revealed that the aide to the minister was a recent appointment and that a police report have been lodged against the officer.
The first involved a prominent businessman from Ampang, Selangor, who furnished his police report against the minister’s aide to FMT.
“I can only confirm that I lodged the report at the Johor Baharu district police headquarters last week and the case has been transferred to the Seri Petaling police station,” said the businessman, who did not want to be named.
“The cheating happened four years ago. He cheated me of about RM2.4 million. The person promised to acquire a RM13 million bank loan for me for which I had to pay him the RM2.4 million.
“I needed the loan to buy out some minority share holders of my company.
“He promised the bank loan provided that some parties are taken care. He even said he was close to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin. Now I know this is not true. I was mesmerized by his smooth talking ways. He appeared very confident too,” he added.
The victim also confirmed that he did not give the RM2.4 million in one transaction but in several payments from August 2008 and October 2009.
“I paid him 20 times, where we usually meet at Jalan Telawi, in Bangsar,” he said, adding that all the payments were made in cash.
He said when the loan did not materialise, he asked for his money back.
“Instead of returning the cash, he made up excuses. I also found out that he conned not only me but also other people. I want justice,” said the businessman.
The political aide declined to comment when contacted.
