Fast-rising leader Rafizi Ramli and his colleague Anthony Loke may lose their seats in Parliament if Prime Minister Najib Razak pushes through charges they say are "politically motivated" to nail their careers.
Both leaders will be pleading not guilty to having breached the Peaceful Assembly Act by having helped organise a mammoth rally at the Pedanag Merbok field in Kuala Lumpur on June 24.
Rafizi is the MP for Pandan and Anthony the MP for Seremban.
"These charges are serious. They can be fined up to RM10,000-00," their lawyer Latheefa Koya told Malaysia Chronicle.
Meanwhile, Pakatan Rakyat leaders turned up to show solidarity for the 2 young leaders. Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Wan Azizah were in court and so was DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang.
