Police have confirmed that the video of a man with his wrist chopped off which went viral on Youtube has succumbed to his injuries
PETALING JAYA: A video of a man with his wrist chopped off in Batang Kali, Selangor, has gone viral on Youtube.
The 1.49-minute video, posted two days ago on the popular web portal, was supposedly taken at a Shell petrol station in the town.
The video was first uploaded by a Facebook user who goes by the name of Deepset Core. As of 11am today, the video had received 11,955 hits.
Four others have also uploaded the video on Youtube.
The video showed a man drenched in blood with his wrist cut off. He was alive when the video was taken.
The victim is believed to have been slashed by unknown assailants.
However, one of the Youtube users who uploaded the video at about 8pm last night claimed that the victim had died.
When contacted, Kuala Kubu Baru district police chief Norel Azmi Yahya said the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital had confirmed that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
“We have classified the case as murder,” he said.
Norel Azmi said he could not divulge more information pending the completion of the investigation.
