Former tourism minister Ng Yen Yen spent over RM4 million on overseas trips during her tenure from May 2009 to January 2013, Parliament was told today.
Ng, who recently came under fire in Parliament for her appointment as new chair of Malaysian Tourism board, was often accused of overspending the Tourism Ministry's budget throughout her previous tenure.
Her travels were listed in a parliamentary reply to Seremban DAP MP Loke Siew Fook and it showed that she had made 34 trips, with China being her most frequently visited destination.
