Apparently stepping into the shoes of former deputy minister P Wathyamoorthy, newly-minted Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mah Siew Keong will reportedly oversee the Hindu Board Endowment.
According to the Star Online, the board looks into matters of land, burial ground, property and funds for the Hindu community.
Quoting sources, it reported that this is among a wide range of responsibilities including the Innovation Unit (Unik), Hawkers’ Association and nuclear energy.
However, when contacted, the Gerakan president said that he still needs to confirm his portfolio and will hold a press conference on the matter on Monday.
“I need to confirm details with other ministries in the next two days. Press conference at… Putrajaya on Monday,” Mah (above)said in a text message to Malaysiakini.
Wee in charge of Chinese new villages
Star Online reported that he will also be in charge of the Malaysian Industry Government Group for High Technology (Might), which nurtures high tech businessness.
The Teluk Intan MP was deputy international trade and industry minister in 2004 and deputy agriculture and agro-based industry minister from 2006 to 2008.
