KOTA KINABALU - Three ladies had a lucky escape when the vehicle they were travelling in plunged into a monsoon drain near the RTM building not far from the state capital.
The women, all in their 20s, were believed to be heading for an early breakfast when the incident happened at about 7am on Wednesday.
They managed to climb out of the vehicle after falling into the drain, which had water up to the waist level, assisted by passers-by.
Policemen at the scene said they believed the driver of the vehicle could not brake on time and had lost control of the car prior to the mishap. -Asiaone
