BY NOW, EVEN MIC DOESN'T CARE? Is Palanivel a political reformer or novice?

BY NOW, EVEN MIC DOESN'T CARE? Is Palanivel a political reformer or novice?
Evolution is a prescriptive definition applicable to all facets of human existence. We had experienced cultural revolution that can be more described as cultural evolution.
We have experienced the Margaret Thatcher model of government administration that can be best or worst described as political evolution (her failed policies had a reeling effect in the UK for years to come including governments that followed her model).
Yes she was an iron lady, but she provided no steel for the comfort of the people of the UK. By dwelling on Thatcher in this article defeats the purpose of the contents of this article.
Be it as it may, MIC had seen a different form of evolution from the days of Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu to Datuk Seri G. Palanivel. If you can simply reflect on the dying days of the Soviet Union; we must reflect on Mikhail Gorbachev and his attempts to modernise the Soviet economy and most of all the Soviet mindset.
This philosophy can be deemed as the Gorbachev attempt in instituting liberalism or closer to the democratisation of the Soviet Union. We shall not at this stage discuss the dissolution of the Soviet Union into independent nations.
What was the most widely used word that described Gorbachev “Glasnost” or “openness” and the other word was “Perestroika”, or in English “Restructuring”.
They were the two Russian words that were synonymous with Gorbachev.
Gorbachev and his political approach; appropriate as it may have been then, failed miserably. Gorbachev was ousted and condemned; the primary reason being that the Soviet mindset was in chains for decades and was not ready for change.
Not ready for the shackles and chains to be removed. The sudden freedom was not palatable to the Soviets (Russians). They could not perceive the change nor could they accept freedom.
Under the iron fist of Samy Vellu, MIC started on a treacherous landscape. Members acted like thugs, members questioned authority and members critical of leadership.
All of these purveyors and traders of what Samy Vellu perceived as fact or lies were brought to task and quelled by the iron fist of the leader Samy Vellu. There were allegations of bashings and threats of physical harm by members of the ten leadership.
It was then a belief that a new breed of political thuggery was fashioned. From then on Samy Vellu was to hold the reins of the MIC for 31 years.
Through the actions of GAS – Gabungan Anti Samy Vellu, Samy Vellu had no choice but to resign in disgrace. Resign he did, with Palanivel as the acting president.
By accident or choice, Palanivel’s policies can be fashioned along the lines of Gorbachev. Palanivel allowed freedom of expression. He allowed dissenting views to be expressed.
There was a stark difference between the styles of Samy Vellu and Palanivel. Those who were comfortable with the change followed Palanivel and his detractors chose to embrace and follow the Samy Vellu doctrine.
Here is a question that requires the thinking man to ask – is Palanivel to be blamed for seeking progress for MIC and the Indian mindset?
Is Palanivel to be blamed for removing the decades old shackles to free the Indian mindset to explore new avenues?
Is it Palanivel’s crime to have allowed his detractors space in the mainstream and social media?
Alas, it can be said to be the detractors approach to keep the Indian mindset in shackles and chains should there come a time they do ascend to the MIC throne that they would not be able to contain the Indians in their grip.
This is typical of the Tamil celluloid drama that unfolds in the homes of a majority of Indians. Good politicians being threatened, coerced, blackmailed and bashed by the goons of the bad politicians. It’s anybody’s guess as to who is who in the zoo where it comes to MIC.
All Malaysian Indians be you supporters or members of MIC to stand up and be counted. Each and every Indian must stand up to these goons and their thuggish and loutish behaviour.
As MIC is synonymous of Indians in Malaysia in the political era, it is time for all Indians to stand up and say, “we will not tolerate you. We condemn you and your actions. Stop this now. You are a bad example to our children. We don’t need you.”
Gutter politics is not acceptable. Bringing in members of the family into your fray is typical of Tamil movies. We see enough of negative Tamil movie influence that corrupt the children’s minds. Please allow us as parents to protect our children from negative influences such as you.
Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? People such as you should not be heard or seen as our children can be influenced and corrupted. You are a shame on the Indian society in Malaysia. Be a man and fight the man.
Why bring in family or members of the family? Shame on you.
The next segment of this article will focus on the letter from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) and emphasis on Section 18 of the Societies Act and its interpretation.
Is the RoS being used by certain parties to bully the MIC? It will be explained. – TMI
