In Indonesia, the media SHAME lavish Najib, Rosmah but in M'sia, a Church is forced to remove its CROSS

The ‘Cross’ crisis in Malaysia indeed reflects the failure of the BN, in particular UMNO’s politics. This may be hard to swallow for the powers that be.

Since it is also the season of the Indonesian press ‘Tempo’ spilling all the negative news on Malaysia, i.e. focused on our Prime Minister and his reportedly extravagant wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, perhaps we should also see how forward thinking the Indonesians have been despite we thinking that they are only good for maid and hard labor exploitation.

The attached photo is a huge bill board on a main driveway in Batam, Indonesia. Taken not light years ago but just in 2014.

Not only does it display a sparkling ‘Cross’ but obviously publicizes Christianity. There are many such similar road side publicity boards announcing a variety of Christian events.

But the vast majority of its close to 300 million people who are Muslims are not feeling threatened. They are not running amok with seizures of anger.

But look what we have in Taman Medan. Not only are there people threatening but even the leaders are not in agreement.

One top gun says, it is not seditious. Another says it is. And yet another pussy foots and says it will be investigated.

And on top of it all we scream we need sedition law to protect each other’s faith?

What is this madness all about then?

It certainly points a finger at the political leaders who have been leading this nation for six decades.

Our leaders have failed to harness, nurture and develop a truly moderate nation of people. Instead we have today, battles not only fought over a ‘Cross’ but also over the Bible and the right to promote each other’s faith for their respective communities with democratic freedom.

And what is the old record that the powers-that-be will play?

Oh, we are a multi-racial society where sensitivity is to be guarded with sedition laws.

Now how will this nation ever arrive at the first world class status when it is so far behind even Indonesia in terms of racial and religious tolerance, acceptance and honor, freedom and dignity? - MAILBAG
