The two did not get the 'VIP numbers' they asked for.
KUALA LUMPUR: Two runners of telephone numbers became angry and showed their displeasure at the mobile service provider by splashing yellow paint in the building lobby yesterday when they were refused eight “VIP numbers” out of the 10 asked for.
Police arrested the two, aged 45 and 57, at the Maxis centre in Jalan Ampang here yesterday.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Zainuddin Ahmad said the men had demanded 10 “VIP numbers” on Saturday but were only given two.
“They told the staff that if they did not get the rest of the numbers, they would cause trouble when they returned on Tuesday,” the Star Online quoted Zainuddin as saying.
SAC Zainuddin said the men returned yesterday and became aggressive when they still did not get the numbers they had asked for.
They started shouting at the counter staff and called up 10 of their friends to cause a stir at the premises.
The two then splashed yellow paint in the lobby.
Zainuddin said the men were arrested for criminal intimidation and committing mischief.
