The prime minister's wife, known to be an avid fan of Bollywood movies, said Najib too was fond of it but only managed to complete "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", the 2001 drama written and directed by Karan Johar.
"My husband also likes to watch Bollywood movies, not that he got so much time but I remember he was very anxious and curious to watch 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham'," she said after opening a multimedia exhibition entitled Life on the Silver Screen – The Fascinating Story of Indian Cinema.
"By the time he comes back in four days time, he has forgotten the earlier scenes, so he starts (all over) again," she said.
Worried that her remarks might be misreported, she reminded those attending the function not to twist her words.
"... And don't twist my words around tomorrow when you write in a blog. Write what I say, don't write what you think I say," she said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
"Now you all laugh, because you all have been reading things I didn't say but they say I said it," she said.
On a serious note, Rosmah said that efforts taken by Indian filmmakers to use Malaysia as their filming locations has played an important part in attracting Indian tourists to the country.
"I'm glad to note that as a result, Malaysia has developed into a major tourist attraction for Indian tourists whose arrivals in Malaysia increased by 20% last year.
"The increase in the arrivals of tourists between both our countries will undoubtedly help to strengthen the existing good and friendly bilateral relations."
"A strong people to people relations will play a significant role in boosting the continuous efforts towards a higher level of relations," she said.
The exhibition, held at Universiti Malaya, was to mark the celebration of Festival of India. It is a collaboration between the Tourism and Culture Ministry and the High Commission of India.
Also present were High Commissioner of India T. S. Tirumurti and Universiti Malaya vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Amin Jalaludin.
