"Wait for how long? We do not even know when the report will be out," the former prime minister said.
"We want to know where the money went to. They can claim to have the assets, but where that initial money went still needs to be investigated," he added, referring to the RM42 billion that is 1MDB's debt.
"He did not even answer," Dr Mahathir said when asked by reporters during a press conference.
He explained that the spectre of the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu was being raised now because an individual now faces the death sentence over the matter.
"He said 'why bring up Altantuya now?' Yes, it is an old case, but the death sentence happened recently. And someone is facing death sentence for allegedly following orders," Dr Mahathir said.
At the same time, he also flayed Najib for defending the government's purchase of a new executive jet for safety reasons.
"If he says he bought the new plane for security purposes, what about the security of Sabah?" he asked.
"People are being kidnapped in Sabah. What is the government doing about it? It is a serious issue," he added.
Najib yesterday answered 13 frequently asked questions in his latest blogpost, the first time he has offered explanations for many issues and allegations that has been levelled against his administration since early this year.
Dr Mahathir himself was vocal and critical of Najib in most of the issues, coming to a point where he had called for Najib's resignation.
