Police will not compromise with anyone who tries to break the law by inciting the people to topple the government
SHAH ALAM: Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar has given a stern warning to the organiser of a planned rally in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday not to jeopardise national security.
He said the police would not compromise with any quarters who tried to break the law by inciting the people to take to the streets to topple the government.
He also urged the organiser to immediately deny the matter (topple the government) as it had been spread on social media.
“We have laws and cannot do anything we like to topple the government. There is a constitutional way to change the government…this is my last warning,” he told reporters at a Hari Raya celebration ceremony at the Selangor police headquarters here today.
He said any rally could be organised in the country but it must follow the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
A group, ‘Demi Malaysia’ is allegedly responsible for organising the rally.
