KICKBOXING? NAZRI LOSES NO SPEED THROWING IN THE TOWEL: 'I am sorry' dear prince. Maaf Zahir Batin!
Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz has accepted the olive branch from Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
The Umno politician also extended his birthday wishes to the prince, who turned 31 on Tuesday.
"Just like him, I just said what I thought and if I caused any grief, I am sorry, there's nothing personal.
"This is a good month, Ramadan, and he just celebrated his birthday, so happy fasting. And I wish him a happy life with his family. Maaf zahir dan batin," he told Malaysiakini today.
In a Facebook posting yesterday, Tunku Ismail urged the press to stop pitting him against Nazri and Putrajaya.
Tunku Ismail said the matter ought to be put to rest because it would not yield any result as he has put forth his views and that the ceasefire was also out of respect for the month of Ramadan.
"Honestly, I too am bored of this issue," he had said.
Bury the hatchet
The prince's posting followed a fresh round of salvos sparked off by Malaysiakini’s exclusive interview with the prince.
Among others, Tunku Ismail had described Nazri as not being very bright, while the latter also returned fire.
Meanwhile, Nazri urged all quarters to respect the prince's request to bury the hatchet.
"I respect it and I hope everyone respects his request as well," he said.
The spat started when the minister warned that the prince risked being "whacked" or losing respect if he continued to comment on political matters
This was in response to Tunku Ismail’s Facebook post which ridiculed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for not turning up at the ‘Nothing to Hide’ forum. - M'kini
