The Star Online reported that the 29-year-old man was chased down by members of the local Community Policing (CP) team, who attempted to make a citizens’ arrest last night at 11pm.
“Who knows what unwanted things he has added into the dishes!” said CP Malaysia founder Kuan Chee Heng, who led the arrest.
The man, who is a chef in restaurant in Bandar Puteri Puchong, then apparently shook the bottle, replaced it on the counter and left.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Razimi Ahmad said the clerk lodged a report with the police after she unwittingly taking a sip from the bottle and scrutiny of CCTV cameras led the CP team to the man in question.
According to Razimi, the man was getting into his car outside his workplace last night when he was approached by members of the CP team.
He tried to make a dash for it but instead ran straight into the clutches of awaiting police officers, who arrested him.
Kuan said that the suspect had previous convictions for sexual offences. He had been arrested twice for hiding in women’s toilets in shopping malls, to spy on them.
“Looks like his old habits never change,” Kuan told The Star.
