BE WARNED NAJIB, ROSMAH: MACC must carry on with 1MDB probe, says Perkasa after officers return
PUTRAJAYA - Malay rights group Perkasa today urged the Malaysian Anti Corruption Comission (MACC) to continue its investigations on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), amid a last minute decision to cancel the transfer of two senior officers out of the anti-graft agency.
Perkasa supreme council member Datuk Sirajuddin Salleh claimed that it was clear that the MACC’s work probe into the state-owned firm was allegedly being disrupted after news broke late last week that the two officers were to be transferred out.
"The government has cancelled the transfer today but the thought of them being transferred while the on-going investigations has made us think,” he said when met at the MACC headquarters here.
"It made us and a lot of people out there feel that there are other elements involved in stopping them from doing their duties.
"It is time for Perkasa to represent the people to ensure that MACC can do their duties without fear or favour," Sirajuddin said after leading a delegation from the group to hand over a memorandum of support for the commission.

Sirajuddin repeated Perkasa’s call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry into 1MDB, stressing that the issue must be settled quickly as it has already tainted the country’s image.
On Friday, both Bahri and Rohaizad received transfer notices telling them they were to report to the Prime Minister's Department today.
According to a source, the transfers were due to "disciplinary issues" involving the duo.
It is still not known what disciplinary issues led to the duo's transfer.
However, earlier today the duo's transfer was cancelled and they were reinstated to their original portfolios with the MACC by the Chief Secretary of the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa. - Malay Mail
