The people just need to give Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak a chance, said Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
"Please give him (Najib) a chance so he can provide better services in the government for the rakyat," he said in his speech at a ground-breaking ceremony of a new building at Chong Hwa Independent High School in Kuala Lumpur today.
Tengku Adnan admitted that the current administration is not a "perfect government", but stressed that they must be allowed to rectify their mistakes.
"We are not a perfect government. I am not a perfect person.
"That's why I say, please come forward and tell me if I am wrong, you can correct me.
"So please, don't become an instigator (unnecessarily)," he said.
Without specifying, Tengku Adnan also said any changes the prime minister has made is to "correct mistakes he has done".
The Najib administration has indeed made many changes recently.
Last week, there was a cabinet reshuffle where several notable critics of the 1MDB were dropped, including former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former rural and regional development minister Shafie Apdal.
On the same day, Abdul Gani Patail was replaced as attorney-general by Mohamad Apandi Ali.
These changes were made in the midst of intensified probes into the 1MDB issue, sparking speculation that they were done to delay the investigations. - M'kini
