Speaking in Pagoh this morning, the former deputy prime minister also revealed that since he was axed from the Cabinet at last Tuesday's reshuffle, he has been prohibited from touching on issues surrounding the troubled 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
"If our friend did something, we comment on it, he gives us a fierce look. We love him. This is my view. Maybe he disagree. Never mind, he's the boss.
"'Yes boss!', 'You okay boss?' 'everything all right boss?' But I am not a 'yes man'," he said in his speech when opening the Pagoh Umno Wanita, Puteri and Youth wings divisional meeting at the Pagoh Sports Complex in Johor.
In his speech, Muhyiddin tried to avoid saying "1MDB", but the company's name was chorused by the delegates.
"I was warned not to speak about 1MDB. Since when Malaysians had to seal their lips, what's the issue," he asked, to shouts of "1MDB" by the delegates.
"I did not say..." Muhyiddin said, adding: "Maybe even in our dreams we could dream about it?"
To this, the crowd again yelled out "1MDB" in unison.
A banner with the words "Dare to Speak Out TSMY" was also spotted in the grounds of the sports complex, referring to the sacked deputy prime minister's initials.
He is expected to officiate the Umno Pagoh division meeting at the same location tomorrow.
Muhyiddin said that he would never give up his deputy president's post in the ruling Malay party.
"I will not step down. I have done nothing wrong against the party," he said.
He added however that since being dropped from the Cabinet, he had able to carry on with life like a normal citizen.
"Since the incident, I've come to understand the world that I did not know better.
"My freedom was somewhat restricted, perhaps for 37 years I could not do the normal things people do.
"Now I can have my breakfast at the mamak (Indian Muslim restaurant).
"It is as though by being axed, the joys of life has been returned to me, no need to go into the office because there is no longer an office for me."
