Its parliamentary opposition leader Lim Kit Siang said there were no signs of Najib preparing to do so, as his newly promoted "lieutenants" were obsessed with fighting fictitious enemies.
"It is long overdue for Najib to give detailed explanation about 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion bank deposits and stop his lieutenants from concocting imaginary enemies and some international conspiracy to topple an elected prime minister," he told reporters at the Penang DAP headquarters today.
The Gelang Patah MP cited recent news reports quoting Umno leaders like Education Minister Datuk Seri Madzir Khalid, who spoke of "a Jewish and Christian agenda aimed at splitting the Malays" behind demands for accountability over the scandals.
