"We (Umno) work hard but they hardly deliver results. They are unable to win anything. Whatever they win, they win Malay majority areas with our support," he said during Seremban Umno's AGM in Paroi today.
"There's no need to give them seats, they want to become ministers, just give them senatorship so they can become senators," he added.
He also said that Umno can rule the state on "its own" if it retains 22 state assembly seats in Negri Sembilan.
Mohamad also gave his full backing to Najib for the latter's leadership and his recent Cabinet reshuffle, which saw Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin being axed from the federal government.
"Even I, as MB, can change my executive council (exco) line up. In my tenure as MB, I have seen five state secretaries change," he said.
"I want to tell the PM, do what you have to do, we are fully behind you," he added.
In an obvious reference to Muhyiddin's criticisms of 1MDB and Najib that earned him a sacking from the Cabinet, Mohamad said that it is important for the party members to stick by their "boss".
"I always say, there are two things in life you can't choose. One is your parents, the other is your boss. You either back him, or if you disagree with him, you quit." he said.
