SHAFIE DARES NAJIB TO REMOVE MUHYIDDIN AS UMNO NO.2 : 'Umno right now is not stable'
KUALA LUMPUR - Referring Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to the party’s Disciplinary Committee is a bad move, according to vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
He said any such action would have bad implications on the party, especially now when Umno was “unstable”.
“I think this should not be an issue because Umno right now is not stable.
“We have to reinforce the party and look at strengthening our party,” said Mohd Shafie in reference to Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi’s statement today.
Abdul Aziz had said that Muhyiddin would have to face disciplinary action following the spread of a video in regards to the RM2.6 billion allegedly deposited into the Prime Minister’s personal accounts.

Mohd Shafie also mentioned that party members had the right to seek clarification from the senior management officials on related issues.
Therefore, he said, it was inappropriate if the explanation from a leader during a closed meeting subjected him to disciplinary action by the party.
“Of course, when a party member like Muhyiddin gives explanations behind closed doors, it will be widely spread by others.
“Party members have every right to hear explanations from the leaders. So he explained it during a closed meeting, afterwards it was spread all around,” he said at a press conference after officiating the Umno Hulu Selangor division meet today. - Therakyatpost
