YOURSAY ‘All that we want is for Apandi to bring the criminals to book.’
Odin Tajué: Attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali, you are a government servant. Issuing threats to the public shows your despicable character and your arrogance.
Next point. So you have been trained as a judge according to the law. That means you were trained to be a judge, and that the training was conducted according to the law, but it does not mean that as a practising judge you observe the law when adjudicating.
And indeed you have not when you presided over the Allah case. You arrived at your decision merely after conducting a short so-called research on the Internet on Christianity. That is not an allegation from me; you yourself stated that was what you did.
Those wishing to minister at a parish take at least four years studying the religion full time at a theological college, but you would have people believe that you became knowledgeable after spending a short time - probably at the most mere hours, and in the single digit.
Your pronouncement that the charge sheet allegedly prepared by your predecessor Abdul Gani Patail was not according to format does not cut any ice.
As far as we are concerned, the format matters nought. What matters was the content. What was the content? And, yes, the charge sheet did exist. Abdul Rahman Dahlan has inadvertently confirmed that.
Why have you disbanded the special task force? It was conducting its probe in accordance with what it was officially supposed to do. No, no need to answer that question. We know the answer.
We may not be judges trained according to the law or trained to be judges who observe the law when adjudicating, but we are not stupid.
Negarawan: "Don't try to insinuate anything against me. I give a warning to everybody. All right?... Be careful. I will be watching," he warned.
Is this a threat to the rakyat? Does the AG think that he is working for the rakyat, or for certain individuals? Does the AG think that he is immune to the law?
The rakyat is watching you very closely.
Aries46: Apandi has no cause to fear perceptions, insinuations or whatever as long as people are given truthful answers to allegations of graft and abuses by international media like the contentious dealings of 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion in PM Najib Razak's personal account.
These issues are an open book as people are able to see the hive of lies and shenanigans to cover up evidence of corruption unearthed by none other than its own investigators.
Despite the months of specifying the people to wait for the task force and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) findings, Apandi himself disbanded the task force with no reason assigned.
The PAC was stifled by removal of four of its panel to Najib's cabinet. The AG was prematurely taken out and the DPM dismissed. This is followed by raids and harassment of MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Committee) investigators.
And now we have a minister who claims that people had to be taken out in light of an alleged charge sheet. What else is there to insinuate? All that we want is for Apandi to bring the criminals to book.
Real Truth: Do your job honestly and always be fearful of the almighty God. You are given the position by the almighty and be grateful to god and show your honesty and do it without fear or favour.
God and the Malaysian public are watching. As much as you threaten for insinuation, please do your job as god intended and no one will insinuate.
Paul Warren: Apandi, why is there a need to warn? That is the standard and quality communication coming out of recent appointees, ministers, deputy ministers, the inspector-general of police (IGP) and the prime minister himself.
Anonymous #44199885: Indeed, I can’t understand why all these high-level government officers must issue a warning to the rakyat and further claim that they are watching us.
You can watch and threaten us all you want. The rakyat demand accountability, integrity, diligence and transparency and a high level of faithfulness to the law and the federal constitution.
These demands must be met as they form the very foundations of our country.
The Mask: Apandi, please don’t talk big. May I remind you that you owe your present position to none other than the one person you are investigating.
You can warn all you want, but past events have given the public a very bad perception of the whole fiasco.
Slumdog: Apandi, do you really expect us to believe you? If you do, then I think you are more foolish than I thought you are.
For an attorney-general to issue threats is unbecoming of someone in your position. Are you an Umno thug in disguise?
One would not encounter this kind of behaviour in a mature and robust democracy.
