The Department of Environment in its portal stated that 34 areas recorded moderate API readings including Larkin Lama in Johor (91); Malacca City (98) and Bukit Rambai (95) in Malacca; Port Klang (83), Banting (78) and Shah Alam (72) in Selangor.
Other areas were Putrajaya (76); Batu Muda and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur (66); Seremban (75), Nilai (78) and Port Dickson (81) in Negri Sembilan.
Sixteen areas recorded good air quality, including Alor Setar (44) and Langkawi in Kedah (28); Tanah Merah in Kelantan (23); Kangar in Perlis (39); Kota Kinabalu in Sabah (30) and Labuan (19).
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and 300 and above, hazardous.
