Gerakan Youth has suggested that discounted toll rates be given for highways without alternative routes. – The Malaysian Insider filepic, October 17, 2015.
Discounted toll rates should be given to motorists on highways without alternative routes, Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang proposed today.
This would help reduce cost of living burdens, he said when speaking at the youth wing's national delegates conference today.
This approach had been adopted before in Penang, when the ruling coalition member party led the state government.
"Give discounts as the Gerakan Barisan Nasional Penang government did, so that motorists do not have to bear the burden of toll hikes," Tan said in his speech when opening the assembly in Shah Alam today.
