Anina: Umno ‘rebels’ will continue until victory

There will be Umno members acting on their own to save the party, which has never been weaker, and the government.
aninaKUALA LUMPUR: Anything is possible given the current state of affairs in Umno and anything that emerges should not be seen as surprising, said sacked Wanita Umno Langkawi leader Anina Saadudin in a statement. “There are many Umno members who believe in the straight and narrow and would not be swayed by its Cash is King President. Every step taken by the Umno President and his hangers-on insults the intelligence of the ordinary membership in the party. The dirt in the party and government cannot be cleaned by those with dirt on their hands.”
“There will be Umno members acting on their own to save the party, which has never been weaker, and the government. They will not allow lies being covered up with lie after lie. The case in Court on the issue of Najib retaining the RM2.6 billion political donation is a case in point. It seems asking this question alone is enough to lead to expulsion from the party.”
She referred to other ticking bombs at work, Umno Deputy President and sacked Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Umno Vice-President and sacked Federal Minister Shafie Apdal, sacked Umno Batu Kawan deputy divisional chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan, the Umno Johor divisions, elements in Puteri and Wanita Umno and former Deputy Higher Education Minister Saifuddin Abdullah. “Saifuddin was considered a diamond when in Umno but now that he has left, he’s being described as floating rubbish.”
Anyone in the party who criticizes Najib, she pointed out, was being marked for destruction and treated like rubbish and considered rubbish outside the party. “Those who remain in the party and don’t criticize the leadership are considered suci (pure). So, Najib thinks that he’s suci by remaining in the party.”
“The whole world is aware that we are now in the grip of dark forces at work, almost like a paranormal disturbance, corrupting everyone to abandon what’s right and just for the nation.”
The corrupt, she added, have deluded themselves into thinking that the government was strong and pretend that everything was normal, although it lost the popular vote in 2013, and can be considered to have only a simple majority in Parliament. “It’s no longer a secret that the 1MDB issue and the RM2.6 billion political donation controversy are the two elephants in the room which would not go away.”
“These two issues are the cause of all our problems today because they led to other problems.”
She does not see the controversies going away unless they are brought to an end through some sort of closure, failing which they will continue to hog the limelight, bog everybody down and continue to weaken an already fragile Umno.
“Attempts are being made to cover the carcass of the rotting elephant as we have witnessed in bizarre decisions being made by the authorities concerned to suit the madness of the leadership.”
There have been so many police reports lodged on the RM2.6 billion controversy and 1MDB but no action has been taken by the authorities concerned, she lamented, and referred to the reports lodged by Khairuddin as an example. “Instead, the powers that be and the authorities concerned are going after him, have arrested and detained him, and intend to use the Court against him in an abuse of the law.”
