Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong admitted today to feeling hurt by racist remarks made by Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders over the past two years, and called for the ruling coalition to put their foot down over the matter.
He said a BN disciplinary committee made up of representatives from all components of the coalition should be set up to check the trend of incendiary remarks made in the name of “political fair game”.
“It hurts when our friends in BN make insensitive remarks to us. Usually, political parties don’t take action against its members. Usually,” said Mah in his policy address at Gerakan’s annual national delegates’ conference in Shah Alam.
“So perhaps BN should have a disciplinary committee comprising all the members to take action (against them). To me, that is very important,” he said, to cheers and applause from delegates in the hall.
