Just received a phone call. Orang nak belanja minum kopi. Why not? Kan kita semua kekawan?
Tomorrow is the Budget. There are a few things I did not want to write about but which have now been discussed openly. Its about legally removing Najib from power.
Pandikar Amin the Speaker of the Parliament is doing the most un-mulia things to avoid or delay a vote of no confidence against Najib in Parliament. His reasoning is incredibly phony and ridiculous. Say what you want but under the law, Pandikar has almost absolute discretion to determine what gets tabled or debated in Parliament.
If Pandikar says no to a motion, then it is as good as stuck.
Mr Lim Kit Siang - who once wanted to sue me - has been suspended from Parliament for six months. I totally disagree with his suspension. I think that is playing real dirty. To me this is another sign of desperation by the village morons who populate Parliament. The country has become a dictatorship.
How do the "people" unseat Najib as Prime Minister?
Tun Dr Mahathir has said that we want to get rid of Najib as Prime Minister but not the BN government. Change the PM only, dont change the BN gomen.
The Opposition folks and an increasing number of people, including UMNO and BN people are saying just throw out the entire BN for at least one term. Hand it over to the Opposition and see what happens. Also it will allow the BN to reassess and do some serious soul searching and housecleaning.
Today Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has said that BN Members of Parliament can vote against the Budget that is going to be tabled tomorrow.
In every country with a peoples' representative process (parliamentary, congressional etc) the government's annual Budget must be put to the vote. Pandikar Amin cannot stop this process.
If the majority of the MPs vote against the Budget, it becomes an automatic Vote of No Confidence NOT JUST against Najib but against the BN government. If the Budget is not approved the government cannot pay the salaries of the Civil Servants. All government expenditure must stop. The government will stop. No approved Budget no more government.
In other words if the Budget is not passed by the majority of MPs, the government must resign automatically. Parliament MUST be dissolved and a new General Election will be called. In such event not only does Najib get kicked out but the whole BN government.
And the Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia cannot do anything about it.
I believe Tengku Razaleigh understands very well what he is saying. That is why I say there are plenty UMNO members who will not regret to see the entire BN government get kicked out. They are totally fed up.
If a General Election is called now, I believe UMNO will win hardly 50 seats (from its present 88 ??) The rest of the BN on the Peninsula will also be wiped out. Only the BN in Sarawak and maybe some of Sabah will survive.
There is another option that is being discussed. Someone has suggested that the Opposition can resign en masse. This is the Samson Option. If all 88 Opposition MPs (or a substantially large number) resign en masse as Members of Parliament then they will force the hand of the Yang Di Pertuan Agong to dissolve Parliament and call for fresh elections.
The problem here is that (I believe) once any MP resigns their seat in Parliament they will not be allowed to run again for one term. They must sit out for one term. This happened to Wan Azizah when she resigned from Permatang Pauh.
I dont think our Opposition MPs will want to do this. Also if the Opposition fields completely new replacement candidates, they may not get the vote either.
Coming back to the Budget tomorrow - even if a few BN MPs decide to vote against the Budget, it will cause a major shock wave.
This is where if Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin, Shafie Apdal, G Palanivel and some other BN MPs vote against the Budget, it will cause severe embarrasment to Najib. (They cannot use the SOSMA or the Penal Code against any MP voting for or against the Budget). The process is completely legal and proper.
Yesterday some Chinese tourists stripped naked on an island in Sabah. Who knows - it may cause a tsunami. The last time someone stripped naked on Mount Kinabalu it caused that earthquake.
