Sacked Umno leader says the allegation that she shared the stage with the Opposition to speak ill of the party is untrue.
PETALING JAYA : Sacked Umno leader Hamidah Osman has said the allegation that she participated in an event organised by the Opposition where she spoke ill of her party was baseless and untrue.
The former Gopeng division woman chief was also now demanding that Umno Secretary-General Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor reveal specifically which Opposition event he was referring to where she was alleged to have criticised her party.
“It (the allegation) is not true. Where? When? What does he mean when he said I criticised the party?
“At what event did I do that? I have never spoken ill of the party. Is talking about the president equivalent to talking about the party and is talking about party equivalent to talking about the president,” she said to FMT today.
Earlier, Tengku Adnan clarified that Hamidah had been expelled from Umno after she was found to have participated in an event organised by the Opposition and not because she invited former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to speak at an event in Ipoh in May.
Her sacking was announced Tuesday by Umno president Najib Razak after the Umno Supreme Council meeting at Parliament.
