Initial investigations reveal that both of them had a heated argument after the English 1 paper.
IPOH: A Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination candidate sustained cuts to his shoulder after being attacked with a knife by a classmate at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Hutan Melintang today.
Hilir Perak police chief ACP Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said before the 10am incident, a teacher spotted a group of students with one of them pointing a knife at the victim B. Paravinen Kumar.
“A moment later, the victim was seen running with blood on his right shoulder. The teacher then rushed to the staff room and alerted other teachers,” he told Bernama when contacted here.
He said the victim was taken to Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment.
Mohd Shuhaily said the incident occurred right after all SPM candidates left the examination hall after sitting for the English 1 paper.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspect and the victim had a heated argument before the fight.
The suspect was on medical leave for the past three months and had just returned to school two days ago, he said, adding that further investigations were being conducted.
