Chaos erupts as Muhyiddin Yassin enters and exits the building resulting in security personnel roughing up members of the media as both shout at each other.

KUALA LUMPUR: The situation at the Umno General Assembly (PAU) turned chaotic today when media personnel were pushed, insulted and kicked by members of the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) and police officers on duty at the scene.
The violent scuffle erupted when Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin entered the Wanita Umno meeting hall at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here today.
It is believed the trouble started when members of an anti-Muhyiddin group started arguing with the leader’s supporters.
Members of Rela and police officers then pushed everyone towards the stairs at the fourth floor, including media personnel who were there to cover the event.
FMT’s own reporters witnessed one local photographer being kicked by a Rela officer at the stairs. The photographer however remained calm.
When Muhyiddin was exiting the building, members of the media were once again man-handled by Rela and police officers as everyone hastily cleared a path for the sacked deputy prime minister.
Shouts were exchanged between security and media personnel and several members of the media were heard shouting back: “We are only doing our job. Stop pushing.”
It was then that several security personnel dressed in light blue shirts made their way to the area. One reporter was violently grabbed and pushed to the side and shouted at by the officer who said: “I am a police officer. Do not cause any provocation here.”
At the same time, a local photographer nearly got into a fight with an officer dressed in a dark blue police uniform and the two were heard shouting at each other.
The scuffle died down after other media personnel intervened and tried to calm down both parties.
