KUANTAN - A consultant with the title of "Datuk" escaped with light injuries after the Lamborghini he was travelling with a female driver rammed into the road divider at Km234 of the East Coast highway near the Kuantan Toll plaza on Wednesday.
Front seat passenger Datuk Lawrence Ng Teck, 59, suffered minor bruises on his fingers, nose and body while driver Norfarahliya Daud, 26, injured her left hand in the 2.45pm incident.
The duo received treatment at a private clinic in the state capital and lodged a police report late on Wednesday.
State public order and traffic chief Superintendent Mohd Noor Yusof Ali said investigations revealed that Norfarahliya, who was driving from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, lost control and crashed into the divider.
"The driver claimed that she lost control while trying to avoid crashing into an animal which was crossing the road. It was drizzling during the accident," he said, adding police have recorded the statement from the driver and passenger to assist investigations.
