Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir is a victim of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib’s political games, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Dr Mahathir today said his son, like everyone else who had criticised Najib, would be expelled from Umno.
"This is Datuk Seri Najib’s politics. Whoever criticises him will be ousted, even expelled from Umno,” Dr Mahathir told reporters today after attending an event in Putrajaya.
He said this in response to the speculation that the Kedah menteri besar would soon be replaced.
According to sources, the rehearsal for the new menteri besar oath-taking ceremony started yesterday and the official event would take place tomorrow or latest by Friday.
Earlier today, Mukhriz had rubbished speculation of his ouster having received royal assent as untrue.

He said his rival group led by Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who called for the former's resignation have yet to receive an audience at the Kedah palace to assent a change in menteri besar.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has blamed the prime minister for his son's ouster in Kedah.
