It is nonsensical for attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali to say that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had mistaken the SRC International money in his personal accounts for donations from the Saudi royal family.
Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, who said this, added this was because the SRC money was transferred a year after Najib allegedly returned the balance of the RM2.6 billion donation to the Sauds.
"The balance from the Arab donation was returned in August 2013.
"So how can he (Najib) say that in 2014 (he) still got Arab money?" Pua asked at a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
Apandi yesterday said Najib was unaware that any SRC money had made its way into his accounts.
The attorney-general said evidence showed that at all material times, the prime minister was of the belief that the "payments made by him" were made from the Saudi royal family's RM2.6 billion political donation.
