Parts of missing helicopter found, PM Najib announces

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak this morning announced the discovery of wreckage from the helicopter that went missing in Sarawak yesterday.
Among others, the wreckage were from the aircraft fuselage, seats in the cabin and a door.
Najib made the announcement at a press conference at the office of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in Kuching.
It was reported last night that Plantation Industries and Commodities Deputy Minister Noriah Kasnon, who is also Sungai Besar MP, was among those on board.

The other passengers were said to be Kuala Kangsar MP Wan Mohammad Khairil Anuar Wan Ahmad, Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry secretary-general Sundaran Annamalai, Noriah's husband Asmuni Abdullah and a bodyguard, Ahmad Sobri.
Najib said the DCA received information that debris from the helicopter were found in Sungai Batang Lupar, near Simunjan, at about 9.50am.
The PM, who is spearheading the BN campaign for tomorrow's Sarawak state election, added that efforts to find the passengers and the rest of the wreckage are still being carried out by the rescuers.
