Ahmad Said says still with Umno, won't cooperate with PAS

Kijal assemblyperson Ahmad Said has denied a media report today stating that he will be cooperating with PAS if Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman refuses to step down as menteri besar
Ahmad said he is still an Umno member and had never said such a thing, adding that the report is a fabrication.
He said this when contacted by Bernama today.
Utusan Malaysia today reported that Ahmad had demanded Ahmad Razif step down failing which he would takes measures that would change the political scenario in the state.
The report quoted the former Terengganu menteri besar, who is also Ahmad Razif's predecessor, as saying that if his demands were not met, he did not rule out the possibility of leaving Umno and cooperating with PAS to form a new government in the state.
Meanwhile, Terengganu PAS commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat also denied that PAS had offered to cooperate with Ahmad Said, saying that it had no intention to interfere with Umno's internal problems.
"What we want is only that this political crisis be solved immediately. The problem will not be settled if both sides only respond to media statements," he said.

Satiful Bahri said if the crisis prolonged, it would be better if the power is given back to the public through an election.
"If two state assemblypersons jump party, only then a state election can be held, but if there are none, this problem will not be over," he said.
In the last general election, Terengganu Umno had formed the state government with a slim majority of two seats, Umno having won 17, PAS (14) and PKR (one).
The crisis erupted after Ahmad Said and Ahmad Razif could not see eye-to-eye.
