KUALA LUMPUR: Seremban MP Anthony Loke Siew Fook, who was among those detained in the police crackdown on Bersih 5 eve, has been released on police bail.
The Star Online reported that Loke was released about 7.30pm today, after he had his statement recorded.
Loke was also ordered to report to the Seremban district police headquarters next Monday, said Bukit Kepayang assemblyman Cha Kee Chin
“While under custody, Loke was taken to his office here and another place in Shah Alam as part of the police investigation,” he said.
Loke was arrested on Friday for allegedly uttering seditious remarks at the recent Pakatan Harapan convention.
Several others who were arrested either before or after the Bersih 5 rally on Nov 19 have also been released.
They are Batu MP Tian Chua and Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, both from PKR, DAP Pasir Pinji assemblyman Howard Lee, Bersih steering committee member Hishamuddin Rais, artist Fahmi Reza, and student activist Muhammad Luqman Nul Hakim Zul Razali.-FMT
