Police today seized a BMW and two motorcycles registered under S Sanjeevan's name during a raid on his home, in a move that the MyWatch chairperson labeled as “bully tactics”.
"They want to seize all vehicles registered under my name, when I asked why, they said they are investigating my case under the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
"They initially froze my personal and company accounts for three months and later they extended it for nine more months.
"Today they took away all my vehicles and I now have none to use," Sanjeevan told news portal Free Malaysia Today (FMT) in a video interview.
The activist believed that this was pure harassment, and had nothing to do with investigations into his alleged crime for money laundering and extortion.
"I think this is one way for them to bully a whistleblower like me," he said.
He said he had cooperated fully with the police since his initial arrest and charging, and would continue to do so.
Sanjeevan also complained that the officers, who came in a police lorry, even banged into and damaged his car park awning.
He claimed it would require thousands of ringgit to repair.
"After that, they didn't even say sorry, just left straight away like that," he said.- Mkini
