IN SINGAPORE, A MALAY BOY BUYS A PORK MEAL FOR HIS UNCLE – IN MALAYSIA, HE WOULD BE JAILED

This could get some knickers in a twist, especially those worn by people who are prone to jump into conclusion. A Malay boy walked into a Chinese eatery in Singapore and bought a meal with a pork dish and he raised eyebrows.

His girlfriend was filming him queuing at the non-halal mixed rice stall. She asked him for whom he was buying the meal?

“For myself,” he said jokingly, before adding “for uncle lah”. He picked a selection of pork, chicken and vegetable.

He left the restaurant and walked to a HDB flat in Singapore where an elderly Chinese man was sitting on a bench. The boy handed over the food and wanted to return the change, but the uncle just waved him off to indicate that he could keep it.

It warms the heart that the young couple didn’t left the differences in their race and religion from helping an elderly person.

We can certainly learn from this young couple.
