Company in Kelantan carbon trade issue warns of legal action

Carbon credit firm Climate Protectors Sdn Bhd has warned of possible legal action over Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) vice president Husam Musa's comments against the company.
In a statement today, Climate Protector Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tang Too Siah said his company may also take legal action against those who published Husam's statement.
"Climate Protectors Sdn Bhd and I are currently seeking legal advice from our solicitors with regard to our legal rights following the statements published during the press conference as well as all the republication in newspaper and/or social media.
"We reserve our rights to take legal action against those who are responsible for publishing and/or circulating such statement," he said.

Husam in a press conference on July 3 raised concerns about the Kelantan government's engagement of Climate Protectors Sdn Bhd for its carbon trading plan.
This was after Bank Negara Malaysia placed the company on the Consumer Financial Alert list for allegedly collecting deposits without approval.
The company provided cryptocurrency dubbed Ecobits.
Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob yesterday denied the state government had anything to do with the deposit collection and urged those who had given their money to lodge police reports.- Mkini
