Nga's Jho Low and SEA Games jibe riles Gerakan

Gerakan vice-president Dominic Lau slammed Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming for a jibe involving the SEA Games and Penang businessperson Low Taek Jho, a central figure in the 1MDB scandal.
Lau accused Nga of malicious intent for linking the 1MDB scandal to the ongoing Kuala Lumpur SEA Games 2017.
"From the beginning, Gerakan's stance on the 1MDB issue has been neutral. We trust the outcome of investigations by the law enforcement agencies and insist those who have broken the law to face punishment.
"We are not defending Jho Low but Nga's action is irresponsible and had gone overboard, tainting the sporting spirit of the SEA Games," Lau said in a statement today.
Nga had on Twitter shared a poster announcing "breaking news" from the SEA Games.

The poster said Jho Low, which it called an "athlete", had won gold in the category of "running away with money".
"This is so real and hilarious," Nga said in a Twitter posting.
Lau said sports transcends race, culture, countries and policies.
As such, Lau said Nga should not drag the SEA Games into politics, especially when Malaysia is the host nation.
Lau said Malaysian athletes have performed admirably in the last few days and Nga should instead show support and advocate unity amongst the people. - Mkini
