Rosmah's aide calls on M'sians to end atheist 'plague'

Rizal Mansor, an aide to the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor, has called on Malaysians to put a stop to the atheist club which he described as a "plague".
He warned that failing to do so may see them becoming emboldened like the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual (LGBT) community.
"The issue of the atheist club cannot be taken lightly. Even though they are conducting their activities quietly, there will come a time where they will dare to speak up like the LGBT supporters do today.
"I invite all the people, particularly parents, to clearly voice out their objections and put an end to the atheist club in Malaysia.
"We need to save our children from this plague of deviant thinking," he said in a statement today.
Rizal, who is a special officer attached to the Prime Minister's Office, urged the public to report any information they have about the group to the authorities so that action can be taken.
He was responding to reports of the Malaysian chapter of Vancouver-based group Atheist Republic holding its annual gathering recently.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Asyrad Wajdi Dusuki said the matter was "worrying" as it concerns the faith of Muslims.
Iranian-born Armin Navabi, who is the founder of the global group, defended the gathering in Kuala Lumpur.

“We have consulates in every country including the Philippines, which is in the same area, but guess what, we don’t have these nonsense attacks on them.
"No government cracking down on our people simply for the fact they change their minds.
“What does this group do to anybody? How do they harm anybody?" he was quoted as saying by the Malay Mail Online. - Mkini
